November 1999...... As part of the enterpreneurship development programme, the Graeter
Noida Industrial Development Authority ( GNIDA ) hasset up an Institute of Tool Room
Training Uttar Pradesh ( ITTUP ) in Greater Noida.The
main objective of the institute are to provide manpower training in the field of design
and manufacturing of tools and mould and allied trades, basic and CNC programming, design
and production of Jigs, fixtures, press tools, plastic moulds, diecasting dies, etc. This
institute is a part of the Tool Room Training Institute in Lucknow which had been
established with the help of Government of Germany.
GNIDA has taken this initiative to empower the local people
of the area through education and vocational training. All the people from whom land
has been taken are being given special preference over the others. There are eight
seats reserved for these people in each course and a fee waiver of Rs. 1000 from these
students.
According to Brijesh Kumar, Chief Executive Officer, GNIDA,
"Member of the displaced family will be given preference in provision of employment
in the existing as well as upcoming industrial units. All this is aimed towards the
numerous enterpreneurship development programmes undertaken by the Authority at regular
intervals. This is to give a special impetus to technical skill upgradation of the local
people."
ITTUP offers three courses. They are two-year die and mould
making course, a tool fitter course for one year and a year-long composite
machinist course. The minimum education educational qualification is High School with
Science for Die and mould making course and High School with Science or Arts for
other training courses. The Age limit for these courses is 16 - 20 years as on 01 July of
the academic session.
The Institute when fully established, shall have tool room
precision machine services on CNC Milling, Spark Erosion, Precision Grinding besides
Turning, Milling and Shaping machine services, heat treatment and quality control.
Subsequently the institute also has of starting short-term
training programme for industrial workers, supervisors and engineers working in industries
in and around Greater Noida. The other courses which are anvil arecomputer programming and
CNC programming, when the institute is well equipped with computer facilities. The
institute can conduct tailor made training programmes specifically developed for any
industrial unit asper their training needs.
