Greater Noida is the only region in North India where
power distribution is being done by a company in the private sector participation. The
Noida Power company (NPCL), jointly promoted by Greater Noida Authority & RPG Group,
has already taken up systems upgradation with a view to ensure quality and
uninterrupted power supply to industries; plans are on the anvil for starting power
generation. 36 MW generating unit is proposed in the first phase incorporating facility
for modular expansion upto 100 MW. The first phase will be completed by April 2000.
